Luxury High End Makeup Haul & Review

It was my birthday a few weeks ago and I decided to treat myself to a few luxury beauty bits that I've been lusting over for a while.

Laura Mericier Second Cheek Color in Lush Nectarine is a peachy pink that applies quite sheer on the face to give you a natural flush. It has a satin finish on the skin so you could blend this all the way up to your cheekbones to give you a natural, diffused glow. It feels super light and velvety when you put it on your skin so you won't feel like you're piling on another layer of makeup on your face.

The Estee Lauder Eyeshadow Duo in Raisins has been on my wish list for a while, and is a must-have if you love neutral shadows. It consists of a pinky champagne color and a burgundy color. These two colors may look pretty typical but blended together they look super pretty and dimensional on the eyes.

YSL Sheer Candy in Luscious Cherry is a sheer cherry red color that could be worn sheer or built up to a medium opacity. YSL Sheer Candy lipsticks feel super moisturizing and comfortable on the lips and is a must-have if you like a sheer glossy tint on the lips.

YSL Glossy Stain in Corail Aquatique is a lipstain that dries to a glossy finish and actually feels comfortable on the lips unlike a lot of other lipstains which tend to dry out my lips. The color I have is a pretty coral color, and it actually does last throughout the day. A lot of people have been saying that the L'oreal Lip Lacquers are dupes to the YSL Glossy Stains but in my opinion they're nothing like the YSL Glossy Stains, and if you have the money to spend on a highend lip product, I highly recommend you to get this!

Brand Overview: Caudalie

Caudalie has quickly become one of my favorite skincare brands as every product I've tried from them have made it into my skincare staples. I also love the fact that their skincare products contain mostly natural ingredients which helps to reduce the inflammation and acne on my face.

Caudalie SOS Thirst Quenching Serum is a great serum for all skin types because it gives you intense hydration without feeling heavy on the skin. This is pack full of hydraluronic acid which is the miracle ingredient for plumping the skin. I've also noticed that this has helped to reduce the pigmentation and scarring on my face significantly over time.

Caudalie Lip Conditioner is a great basic lip balm that helps to hydrate and soothe dry lips. It is quite thick so I usually use it before I go to bed to let it do its job overnight, and in the morning I always wake up with super soft lips!

Caudalie Beauty Elixir is a quick pick-me-up for when your skin is looking dull because one spray of this will instantly brighten and tighten your complexion to make it look more fresh and glowing. You can also use this to set your makeup as well as take away the powderyness of your makeup. I go through this stuff super quick because I can't get myself to stop spraying this throughout the day!

Caudalie Divine Oil is a super versatile product as you can use it on your skin, hair, body and nails. It contains a mixture of essential oils that helps to nourish and hydrate you from head to toe. Definitely a must-try from this brand!

My Skincare Routine: Eyes & Lips

I'm pretty low maintenance when it comes to eyes and lips, so I don't do much besides just making sure that they are moisturized and hydrated. For my nighttime eyecream, I use the Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream, which is the only eyecream I've found that truly helps with dry undereye area and fine lines. It is packed with vitamin E and other beneficial nutrients to help to keep your eye area hydrated. I've suffered from fine lines for a few years now, and I've noticed a huge reduction in my fine lines ever since I started using this.

For my daytime eye cream, I use the Lierac Instant Smoothing Gel. It has a cooling sensation when you put it on, which helps with depuffing your eyes. It dries down to a slightly tacky finish, so it also acts as a primer to help any eye makeup that you put on top adhere to your eye lids better. If you have dry skin, you can definitely use this as an eye cream and primer in one, but as I have oily eye lids I still use a primer on top just to be sure.

Since I wear a lot of waterproof mascaras which can be a bit harsh on my lashes, I find that it's really important to take care of my lashes as well. Canmake Lash Care Essence was rated as one of the best selling makeup items in Japan so that's why I decided to give it a try. It contains several types of botanical ingredients which help to nourish your lashes overnight. I've noticed that my lashes look longer and fuller since I started using this.

To exfoliate my lips, I use the Lush Lip Scrub, which is just a typical sugar scrub. There are other ones on the market but this is just what I have on hand. After I've exfoliated, I usually will slather on a thick layer of Dior Creme De Rose Lipbalm, which is a product that's totally worth all the hypes around it. It is packed with vitamin E, essential oils and shea butter, and it is an absolute savior for dry and cracked lips. It just feels so luxurious on the lips and doesn't leave a greasy residue- best lip balm ever! I sometimes also put this on top of my lipsticks which helps to make my lips look fuller and plumper.

If I'm in a hurry in the morning, I usually will slather on the Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate, which just gives my lips a slightly coral tint. These keep my lips hydrated throughout the day and they also come with several other colors, including a clear one that you can use overnight. Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Drugstore Lip Favorites

In recent years, the drugstore has come out with some really great collections of lip products, which in my opinion are great competitors for some of the high-end lip products I own. These lip products shown above are some of my favorite lip products in general, and the great thing about them is that they are all under $10.

I tried to arrange these lip products by brand, so let's start off with Revlon. In my opinion, Revlon has some of the best lip products in the drugstore, and they are constantly coming out with cool new lip products, and I've never been disappointed. The Revlon Superlustrous and Colorburst lines of lip glosses are richly pigmented glosses that are beautiful either worn alone or over lipsticks. The ones shown above are Pink Pop and Bordeaux. Pink Pop is a gorgeous hot pink color, while Bordeaux is a dark red. These don't feel sticky on the lips at all, and last fairly well.

The Revlon Just Kissable Balm Stains are a fusion between lipbalms and lipstains in that they are very long-lasting stains that are still moisturizing and won't dry out your lips. What I love about them is that you can wear them as really sheer tint for everyday or you can build them up to give you very pigmented colors depending on how many layers you put on.

The Revlon Lip Butters are some of the most moisturzing lipsticks I own, so they are great to wear during the colder months. These have a really buttery consistency, hence the name lip butters, and give your lips a really natural tint. These are not the most long-lasting lip products, but if you have trouble with dry lips, these are a must-have.

Just like their name says, the NYX soft matte lip creams are very creamy when you first put it on, and dries down to a matte finish. They can be a bit drying, so you definitely have to exfoliate your lips before putting them on. These are very pigmented and usually last throughout the day.

The Rimmel Kate Lipsticks are developed by the supermodel Kate Moss in collaboration with Rimmel. I love the sleek packaging, and the lipsticks also have that very high-end feel to them. These have some really fun colors and are extremely long-lasting as well.

The Rimmel Apocalips are one of Rimmel's latest releases, and I believe that right now they are only available in the UK, but I bought mine from asos.com which ships worldwide. These are like liquid lipsticks  that are extremely rich and saturated in color. Even when they dry, they still give your lips a glossy finish, and they are extremely long-lasting.

Bourjois just came out with their Rouge Edition lipsticks. I absolutely adore the packaging and the feel of these lipsticks. They are moisturizing while still being long-lasting.

The Maybelline Vivids are a new collection of lipsticks that just came out. They feel very light on the lips while still being very pigmented in color.

Lastly, the Covergirl Lip Perfection Lipsticks are creamy and long-lasting lipsticks that remind me very much of Mac lipsticks. They have been around for a while but still remain to be some of my favorite lipsticks in general.
